AB-CT is a pioneering medical technology company in the field of quality diagnostic breast imaging solutions.

Our breast CT scanner nu:view supports radiologists make reliable diagnoses, and has been specifically developed with the highest level of patient comfort in mind.

AB-CT was established in 2016 as a spin-off of the Institute of Medical Physics at the University of Erlangen (FAU) headed by Prof. Willi A. Kalender. Today, the AB-CT team of 50 led by CEO Dr. Ulrich Bergmoser, continues the ground-breaking research and development of world-class solutions for diagnostic breast imaging for women.

There is a general consensus that 3D imaging with high level isotropic resolution will offer significant advantages. Mit nu:view hat unser Expertenteam aus Softwareentwicklern, Ingenieuren und Medizinphysikern nicht nur ein weiteres CT-Gerät entwickelt, sondern eine revolutionäre Technologie – Made in Germany.

Our vision is to empower radiologists all over the world to diagnose breast cancer early as this is the cure.

Research Background

Founder and scientific advisor Willi A. Kalender has dedicated his professional life to research, mainly in the area of diagnostic imaging. The development and introduction of volumetric spiral computed tomography was a particular focus of his work.

In 2008, Prof. Kalender headed the project “Breast CT”, which was backed by the EU and the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF).
